GAME - Travelling the Yellow Brick Road

As Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Lion traveled the yellow brick road, they gave and were given little pieces of encouragement, wisdom and advice. So, this game is all about giving little pieces of encouragement, wisdom and advice. Here's the catch: you have to use either a word, or an idea from the one before you to include in yours.

Example from Wizard of Oz quotes - yours DO NOT need to be from the movie, just real life:
"A heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others."
"Hearts will never be practical until they can be made unbreakable."
"I shall take the heart. For brains do not make one happy, and happiness is the best thing in the world."
"A baby has brains, but it doesn't know much. Experience is the only thing that brings knowledge, and the longer you are on earth the more experience you are sure to get."

Now, start with that last quote, and we're off!

Note: this game is a prize in itself, as it's all those bits of wisdom, encouragement and advice we are passing along.

I think I understand this, Golda. Tell me if this is incorrect.

Experience is the best teacher.

That is absolutely correct Ellie!

Teaching what you know is only useful when you love what you teach.

Teaching kids to count is fine, but teaching them what counts is best

Everyone serves a useful purpose in life if nothing other than to serve as a horrible example!

It isn't the blessings in life that count, but how you count your blessings!

Those blessings are sweetest that are won with prayer and worn with thanks

Thanking God for all the little things in life is the surest way I have ever found, or seen, to get out of depression and selfishness. It always cheers me up to start listing all the things I have to be thankful for.

I have found the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there can be no more hurt, only more love.
