Friday: BuckBeak, I Mean Wither Wings Winner is GOLDA

Moderator: Golda

BuckBeak was a hippogriff we met in Harry’s third adventure. A hippogriff has the front half of an eagle and the hind quarters of a horse! They were said to be proud creatures and demanded respect.

After receiving a death sentence and escaping, he was later christened Wither Wings!

Your challenge is to create a card or project using a feather. Not only that, however. As a creature we do not see, we are free to use our imaginations to make these feathers look like anything we like! Put your imaginations in gear and have fun creating!

You have until midnight on Tuesday, Feb. 27 to upload your creations to be entered in a drawing for a small prize. We will announce the winners on Wed. Feb. 28.

I hate feathers....I have fluff everywhere thanks to Rosie the dog! She "killed" my crinkly bag and scattered the feathers through out the house.

It needs something more but it's almost midnight and my brain is mush...

Trudi, that is gorgeous! I'm sorry about the mess Rosie caused, too. Though, you did give me a good laugh about it.

Marilyn, love your card and your bookmark. Gorgeous!

Trudi, that's so funny about Rosie protecting you for the bag of feathers! You managed a cute card even with the attack!

For this I had these vinyl peacock feathers that I adhered to white cardstock, colored them with my copics and finally made a purple glitter frame using washi tape. Finally I was just going to add a sentiment cut out but it just didn't feel right so....I did an old grade school way of tracing, took an already printed sentiment, scribbled pencil lead to the back, placed it right side up on the front of the card, traced the font and the pencil lead was left behind now all I had to do was trace it over with a thin black pen.

Great feather card, Barry. I love the way you did the sentiment, too.
