Now, your challenge is to create some GREAT BALLS OF FIRE. By that I mean make a Christmas ball ornament with a whole lot of glitter goin' on. If you don't have an ornament shape, you can use just a circle. Here's the challenge, you need to use at least 2 colors of glitter to "color" your ornament. And the whole thing needs to be covered in glitter.

To make mine, I adhered double sided adhesive to card, then cut out my shapes. I pulled off the adhesive cover and adhered a stencil, then put on my first color of glitter. After that, I pulled off the stencil (carefully - I did try and pat the stencils on my skin, before adhering, so they wouldn't stick too well) and added another color of glitter. On a couple of them, I die cut a shape out of non stick paper (like the double sided adhesive cover) and put that down under my stencil, so after the 2 colors of glitter, I pulled that up and did another color. It's a lot of fun and a lot of mess, but you wind up with some beauties. For one of them, or maybe a couple, I used lace and put that down in place of a stencil. Yes, it pulled up just fine.

No, you don't have to make yours the same way, but you do have to have at least 2 colors of glitter on your ornament balls and they do need to be covered in glitter. No double sided adhesive? (Good grief, what card maker runs out of that? - don't ask) No colored glitters? You can use glue to adhere clear or white glitter to card, then color it with alcohol markers. There are lots of different ways to get glitter on your ornaments, have some sparkling fun figuring it out.

I know, it's not Christmas, nor is it October, but get started on some fun Christmas cards now and you'll have less to make later. ;)

For those of you that try this and post a picture of your creation, I'll do a random drawing for a winner of a small prize to be chosen very early Sept. 7. Have some fun!

Once I got started, I just kept going. I really had fun with them. Like I said, you don't have to glitter like I did. You can use glitter glue, etc.

Oh my...loose glitter! I think my backyard will be a good place to do this project! Now to go buy more glitter or glitter glue...I used the last of it last night to do the White Christmas Challenge!

I started with glitter paper for both to make my life easier (or perhaps cleaner). The one on the left is glitter paper on glitter paper and the one on the right is Stickles on glitter paper. I wouldn't have given you a penny for either when I made the balls but once mounted, they are growing on me.

Just wait, you'll love them soon enough. They are great! And glitter paper is definitely a clean way to do glitter.
