So, your challenge is to make a card that shows bold shapes and lots of texture. Use whatever shapes you want and do your texture however you want.
This one I used some wall paper samples a friend sent me and ran it through similar to a texture plate - for the triangles. Used an embossing folder for the background.
For the background on this, I used Nuvo Embellishment Mousse through a stencil. FYI, the Nuvo Embellishment Mousse doesn't stay good long, even when sealed well. Didn't cover the whole piece with it and then did some acrylic sprays and a shimmer spray over the top. The three smaller pieces are the top one is a white die cut glued onto a white background. Middle is an embossing folder with ink lightly rubbed over the top. Bottom is heat embossing with inking over.
This one is probably my favorite. The smaller pieces are the same as the one above, but the background is a piece of tissue paper that I used for a while wiping up leftover watercolors, then found a section I liked the colors on, spread glue over a piece of light card and pressed the tissue paper down. Made sure there were wrinkles for extra texture.
This one was mostly heat embossing with inking over the top and then popping the piece up, to give depth for the whale windows.
You can see I added Nuvo Stone drops on the first one, and sequins on another for extra texture. There are so many ways to add texture: handmade paper, roughing up the paper, etc. Be creative choosing your ways to add texture.
Have fun working on this!
