Pleated Pop up Card

An open ended midweek challenge to give you a little bump to get through the rest of the week! Begins on Wednesday mornings.

While out shopping with Samantha, I found a box of very pretty cards. I figured Samantha needed her own stash of cards, so as an Apartment Warming present I bought them for her! Here's one of my favorite from the set...and the inspiration for this week's challenge!

Since this card, when stretched out, is 12 1/4 long, I had to figure out my own measurements for 5 1/2 x 11 base card. Here is what I came up with...I have 4 mountain folds instead of 3.

After I created the card, I found this website https://www.extremepapercrafting.com/20 ... orial.html that has a template for 3 mountain folds. If you want, you can also cut 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 panel and glue them to a strip of accordion folded paper to create how ever many mountain folds you want or to create deeper tabs. I hope you give this card a try!

Trudi, your card is fabulous. Love that octopus spilling over. Great job on figuring it out for yourself, too.

Terrie - what a great use of the butterfly punch! I love that you added the garden to the back layer.

Okay, I tried. My husband loves the inside, but didn't like the front. I'm still giving it to our son for his birthday today.

Tipped the back/top up so you could see the whole scene.
