Bokeh Technique Challenge

An open ended midweek challenge to give you a little bump to get through the rest of the week! Begins on Wednesday mornings.

OMG; I am sooooooo sorry!!! I forgot that I am hosting this week!!! Thanks for the nudge, Trudi! I've been gone all day and just came to our site. Sorry sorry sorry!

My challenge is the Bokeh Technique. You use the technique to make your background paper. I will show my paper and then the finished card. I used watercolors on mine but you can also use inks rubbed on with sponges/daubers. It's an easy, fun technique. The only potential Problem is having a white ink that it really opaque. Mine wasn't opaque enough but I let it dry and went over it again and that worked fine.

Here is a link to a tutorial by Dawn:

I hope you will try this because it does make a really different background for your cards.

It's always fun to try something new. I'll check it out this weekend.

I love your paper and the card you made with it!

I've wanted to try this technique for some time. Have posted several samples to Pinterest. NOW I'll be motivated to try them. Thanks, Ellie...and your sample papers and card are excellent!

I had so much fun with this technique that I made two cards! They are really easy to make. Found lots of ideas and tutorials on Pinterest. (The butterfly was in a prize package that one of you sent to me, I think after the last crop. It added the perfect touch!)

Kathy, those are both wonderful. I especially like the pink one. You did a great job with the technique and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for giving it a try!

My white kind of pulled in the color from underneath, but still has a fun look. I did wait for the first to completely dry before doing the white.

Golda, I love that you didn't use circle but BUTTERFLIES for your bokeh technique. So very pretty!
