Christmas Animal Challenge 9/30/15

An open ended midweek challenge to give you a little bump to get through the rest of the week! Begins on Wednesday mornings.

Moderator: eoconnell

Do you realize that there are less than 3 months until Christmas? :o Okay, take a deep breath, that is 12 weeks, you have some time. And, if you've been playing along with my Christmas card challenges, you'll have a good chunk of your Christmas cards done already. If not, now's a good time to get started. ;)

Your challenge this week is to make some Christmas cards that include an animal in some way. Here are a few examples:

I had a great idea for this next one, but it didn't really turn out as planned. I was thinking first coming is darker and the second coming is stamped off, so lighter. My husband thinks it looks like the lion is going to eat a baby. I may have to put the scripture reference on it.

So, my friends, let's see some more Christmas cards that include animals! This is an open challenge, so even if you don't get them done this week, keep working on those Christmas cards.

Fun challenge Golda. I think your husband's theory is hysterical! Thanks for hosting.

Oh boy! I almost made some Christmas cards about 10 days ago but decided to wait for your next challenge. I have a ton of laundry to do from our trip. How convenient that the washer is in my studio! Your samples are great, Golda. I will stay out of your marital discussion.

It would probably look better with the lion on the right, as that is future. Hmmm, may not send that one without some cutting and rearranging. Ha! With the "words" or sentiment on the left, it would work so much better. The Word, baby, lion (Rev 5:5) - I didn't have a warrior on a horse for more common references. Yep, that one is definitely getting cut apart and rearranged. Thank you all for making me think on it some more. Hmm, I might have to put some vellum in front of the lion, too, to make it a bit more light.

I started out with bad juju today but I soldiered through and things got better. I finally figured out that my embossing ink pad was not wet enough after several bad attempts. Luckily I have a re-inker. (Word to the wise: If you embossing isn't sticking, suspect the ink, not the heat gun or the powder.) Finally, I ended up with two sets of nice cards. Thanks, Golda!
