Nov 9-15: Make a card that pops!

An open ended midweek challenge to give you a little bump to get through the rest of the week! Begins on Wednesday mornings.

Moderator: eoconnell

If you ever need a card with a “wow” factor, go for a card that includes an element that pops up, pops upen or pops out!
You can find many examples, along with templates and tutorials, on Pinterest or by googling “Pop up card”, “Pop out card”, “Pop open card”, or “3-D card.”

I had fun making this masculine card with a cute fish that leaps right out of the center!

You can find instructions for my 3-D fish here- http://priscillastamps.blogspot.com/ (card and how-to video is half way down the page). One tip- use copier weight paper for the fish. I found that if I used cardstock upon the cardstock base it got pretty thick and didn’t lay flat.

So… my mid-week challenge is to make a card that pops! Have fun!

Oops... forgot to add this little tidbit of info.
I’ve seen many cards with looped threads behind a sentiment or image. Tried it a few times and ended up with a mess. Then, found a video that shows a simple way to complete this task. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPoorrOdixM
Easy peasy!

I've been eye-balling this stamp set for a while and finally bought it.

Ellie, what a beautiful stamp! I can understand why you wanted it. Your coloring of the bouquet is exquisite. Plus, it's a popup. Yay!
