It's a Wrap 12/28/16 to 1/3/17

An open ended midweek challenge to give you a little bump to get through the rest of the week! Begins on Wednesday mornings.

Moderator: eoconnell

Last week, or the week before, I suggested you save some of your favorite wrapping paper. I hope you did, 'cause this is where you need it. Your challenge is to use some of your left over wrapping paper to make a background, or maybe a focal point on a card or scrapbook page. (My family thought it was interesting that I needed good chunks of wrapping paper, so the unwrapped carefully and I wound up with lots and lots of wrapping paper. Unfortunately, most in the same patterns.)

Here are my examples:

On the one, I used lots of smaller pieces to make a background. On the other, I just used a large piece of one as a focal point. Have fun with this. If you forgot and got rid of all the wrapping paper, you can use scraps of patterned paper, instead.

I can't wait to see what you come up with for this, as there are so many options, as well as wrapping papers. You certainly don't have to make a Christmas project. Many wrapping papers would be good for all sorts of different things.

Those beautiful tree cut outs were given to me by Elaine. Thank you!

Golda, that fox paper makes me smile! I'll be home later today and have a crop on Friday, so hope to play soon! I have lots of new toys awaiting me too. Thank you for hosting!

My daughter found the fox paper at The Container Store last year right after Christmas. It is thick, too, which is helpful.

Didn't have any Christmas wrap scraps... but did have this lovely pansy paper from a birthday gift a few years ago. Was fun to add a bit of vellum to make a few cards.

Pretty Kathy. The velum over the background really makes the poppies on top pop!

Kathy, those are beautiful! Love how you fussy cut and used part of the paper as your focal image. Thanks for playing along!

Terrie, what a bright and cheerful card! I like the addition of the ribbon and bow.
