Watercolor Lifting

An open ended midweek challenge to give you a little bump to get through the rest of the week! Begins on Wednesday mornings.

Moderator: eoconnell

Saw this, last week, and thought it would be fun to try: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2-WL9T4mYSQ&t=210s

Please try this technique and show us what you made (it does NOT need to be a card).

I tried the watercoloring 3 different ways: watercolor pencils, watercolor paints and watercolor markers. I will say, I liked the markers best for this technique, though the others did work. Another hint, when your piece is done, walk away and let it set for a few hours, BEFORE you decide if you like it, or not. Also, bright colors work best, but yellows, not so much.

Found some other watercolor markers and tried it again, today.

Here's what I made with that piece (the others are still sitting on my table, waiting to be used):

So, with my one 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece, I made 3 different cards.

I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Basic rundown, in case you can't watch the video:
1. Cover watercolor paper in a watercolor ink (marker, ink, pencil, paint, etc.). If you don't have any of those, distress ink, or anything that reacts to water will work.
2. Add water to get it kind of run together a bit. WAIT FOR IT TO DRY COMPLETELY.
3. Heat emboss a fairly solid image on top with clear embossing powder.
4. Add more water to soften the color around the images.
5. Use it in some way.

OK, I made two pieces and this is the better of the two. On this one I used water color paints and a background stamp.
